Description

• Assess patients of all ages—pediatric, adult, and geriatric—utilizing standardized metrics and observational methods.
• Create tailored treatment plans that target essential short-term aspirations as well as long-term communication or swallowing needs.
• Facilitate direct, individualized speech therapy sessions centering around communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Engage with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to design cohesive and collaborative care approaches.
• Provide essential education to patients and families, equipping them with tools to support continuous growth outside therapy sessions.
• Conduct periodic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
• Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Keep up to date with advancements in the field through continuous education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates who have yet to obtain ASHA certification.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
