Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a construction-focused organization in Salem, Oregon on a Contract basis. This role will manage core accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and help keep monthly reporting on schedule during a team member’s leave. The ideal candidate brings strong Excel capability, solid general accounting experience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Oversee daily general ledger activity and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.• Prepare and post journal entries to support routine accounting operations and period-end reporting.• Lead month-end close tasks, including reviewing balances, resolving discrepancies, and meeting reporting deadlines.• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to maintain reliable financial data.• Perform bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items to ensure cash records remain accurate.• Use advanced Excel skills to analyze financial information, organize supporting schedules, and streamline reporting processes.• Assist with accounting support related to system-related process changes, including expense reporting and payroll platform implementation activities as needed.• Contribute to a smooth accounting function by partnering with internal stakeholders and providing dependable coverage during a leave assignment.
