Risk Control Compensation Overview The annual base salary range for this position is $94,400.00 - $155,800.00. Actual salary will be determined by factors such as scope, complexity, location, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, and other conditions of employment. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards. What Is the Opportunity? Provide the Underwriter with account knowledge related to hazards, controls, and management. Evaluate how a company identifies and manages its inherent risk factors. Differentiate the account from others in similar classes of business. Work with larger, more complex, all-lines accounts. What Will You Do? Maintain a consistent field presence, spending approximately 20%–50% of the time onsite with customers. Travel to customers, which may involve long-distance, overnight, and/or multi-night trips depending on business needs. Partner with and jointly own with Underwriting the selection, retention, and growth of a profitable book of business. Build and maintain productive relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to service customers as a unified team. Complete risk assessment evaluations for moderate to high complex accounts with potential for severe losses, multi-location companies, larger fleet exposures, and significant business exposures. Write technically detailed reports that communicate a clear assessment of risk and effectively articulate recommendations. Discover and evaluate customer needs through loss analysis and customer readiness to recommend Risk Control products and services. Identify uncontrolled exposures to influence customers to make improvements and corrective actions to mitigate loss potential. Provide solutions to assist customers in risk mitigation through the use of our extensive resources. Stay current with technical subject matters, regulatory environment, and emerging issues. Create a valued customer experience through each assessment and service encounter. Perform other duties as assigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Bachelor's or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences, or related technical fields. Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen. Recognized relevant certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS). Technical aptitude and attention to detail. Superior communication skills – both written and verbal. Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with others. Experience working in a collaborative environment. Critical thinking skills. Influencing skills that effectively drive business needs. Negotiating skills to achieve optimal outcomes. Ability to give and receive coaching and feedback. What Is a Must Have? Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or a related field such as occupational/environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military experience. Valid driver’s license. Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements where applicable. What Is in It for You?
