Sr. Prescription Acquisition Specialist

Overview AnewHealth is a national pharmacy care management company specializing in care for complex chronic patients. This role is for a Senior MD Call Specialist in the Patient Engagement Center of Excellence, a remote, phone‑based position focused on patient communication, pharmacy services and applied drug knowledge. Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service in a phone‑based environment. Enter high volumes of data, processing prescription information with speed and accuracy. Use drug knowledge to receive prescription authorizations, clarifications or transfers. Perform claim adjudication and auditing duties—including prior authorizations, billing and eligibility checks. Make outbound calls to patients for medication profile updates and welcome calls for new patients. Solve patient care issues by working through case queues. Liaise between clinical pharmacists, doctors and other medical professionals on patients’ behalf. Partner with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients to ExactCare. Maintain accurate patient records with confidentiality and attention to detail. Verify prescription information through doctor calls and ensure correct retrieval. Serve as backup support during periods of higher patient call volume. Assist patients with questions over the phone and work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment supporting ExactCare’s nationwide patient base. These essential functions represent the major duties of this classification; specific duties may vary based on departmental needs. Qualifications Education : High school diploma or GED. Pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy preferred. CPhT preferred but not required. Experience : Minimum 18 years of age; prior pharmacy setting experience; SME in department workflows. Skills & Abilities : Comfortable working in a phone‑based environment; independent, self‑motivated and goal oriented; proficient with computer equipment and multiple software programs; exceptional customer service skills; thorough drug knowledge; pharmacy billing knowledge; clear written and verbal communication; strong prioritization, organization and confidentiality; passion to help people and compliance with state and federal regulations; critical thinking and documentation skills. Physical & Mental Demands The position is administrative and requires hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking and walking. Employees must be able to commute to multiple site locations within an assigned territory. Extended hours may be required. Schedule & Travel Full‑time; average 40 hours per week with availability outside normal business hours on an ad‑hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate organizational needs and may be adjusted. Travel may be required for special events, team meetings, trade shows, conferences and client engagements.
