Upland, CA Heritage Park, operated by Generations Healthcare, seeks a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Health Licensed Clinician (LMFT, LCSW) with supervisor experience or interest in providing supervision, or a registered associate, to join our dedicated team. This vital role supports the psychological, emotional, and social well‑being of adults with moderate to severe mental illness in an inpatient residential setting. The clinician conducts comprehensive assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, facilitates individual and group therapy sessions, delivers therapeutic interventions, and provides crisis response as needed. The position collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, person‑centered care. In addition to direct clinical care, licensed clinicians play a key role in training, supervising, and mentoring advanced‑level therapy students, contributing to the professional development of future clinicians. Key Responsibilities – Licensed Clinician Provide supervision to AMFT, MSW, and PCC students and associates alongside the BH Clinical Director. Manage day‑to‑day tasks, scheduling, training, and ensure compliance with the student program. Deliver weekly individual and group supervision sessions. Key Responsibilities – Licensed and Associate Clinician Establish rapport and maintain therapeutic boundaries with clients. Conduct individual and group therapy using evidence‑based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. Report any violations of patients’ rights or allegations of abuse to appropriate authorities. Apply direct resident care services to ensure safety, comfort, and protection of residents. Gather appropriate data and formulate assessments of patients’ mental health, medical history, social, and emotional contexts. Develop personalized treatment plans outlining strengths, deficits, and high‑risk psychosocial needs. Periodically revise treatment plans based on ongoing psychosocial assessment. Compile and maintain accurate, legible patient records using approved forms and formats. Document all 1:1 sessions, high‑risk incidents, assessments, plans, interventions, patient involvement, outside agency communication, interdisciplinary contacts, and case closure per patient care area standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (e.g., PD, Psychiatrist, DON, Nursing Manager) to provide outcomes and updates of assessments, treatment plans, goals, and objectives. Provide training to staff on behavioral health topics, fostering a culture of understanding and support for patients. Conduct suicide risk assessments and coordinate with the treatment team to develop and monitor care plans. Intervene to decrease tension and assist clients in evaluating non‑productive behaviors during times of crisis. Participate in incident de‑briefing sessions with staff and patients, offering coaching and psychoeducation on best practices for managing behaviors. Identify and effectively manage resistance and conflict with clients, healthcare team members, and community representatives. Facilitate and develop staff education and training initiatives. Knowledge of DSM‑5 diagnostic criteria for adult disorders and developmental tasks. Application of behavior modification, assertiveness training, supportive therapy, and related principles. Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements Master’s or higher degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field. Approved to provide clinical supervision by the BBS. One year of behavioral health experience required (experience with severely mentally ill and group facilitation preferred). Current LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC license in good standing with the BBS, or current registration as an AMFT or ASW Trainee/Intern with the BBS (board‑registered associates must maintain an active supervision affiliation and active associate registration). Current CPR certification required or obtainable during orientation. Proficiency in verbal de‑escalation and physical intervention programs (Pro‑Act, CPI, or HWC). English proficiency required. Experience or knowledge of the Office of Diversion and Re‑entry (ODR) preferred. Experience or knowledge of court processes and communication requirements preferred.
