Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred, 2 years preferred for ideal candidates License: Active RN license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS Must-Have: Phlebotomy experience Starting IVs experience Description: Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical. The role involves patient care management in a short-term acute care environment. Nurses will manage patients with a variety of clinical issues, including blood dyscrasias, endocrine pathology, cardiac and renal failure, GI conditions, infectious diseases, and asthma. The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4-5. Weekend shifts are required on a rotating basis, approximately every other weekend. Candidates must have experience in acute care medicine. Phlebotomy and IV initiation skills are essential for this position. The department supports an interdisciplinary team approach, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. This position requires the ability to float within the service line as necessary. Candidates should be proficient in the management of dysrhythmias and have experience in a teaching facility or Level I Trauma Center. All required vaccinations must be completed as specified.
