Payroll Manager

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations across several U.S. locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional who enjoys improving processes, collaborating across departments, and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance. What You’ll Do Direct day-to-day payroll activities for a team of two. Manage payroll processing for employees across multiple states and varying pay schedules. Verify payroll records, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate payroll-related reporting, account balancing, and year-end close activities. Review employee benefit deductions and partner with HR on benefit administration. Support workers’ compensation reporting, audits, and insurance renewals. Collaborate with Finance and Human Resources to resolve payroll questions and improve internal procedures. Monitor payroll trends, investigate discrepancies, and recommend operational improvements. Oversee retirement contribution processing and payroll-related accounting support. Participate in special projects focused on automation, reporting enhancements, and payroll efficiencies. What We’re Looking For Previous payroll leadership experience in a multi-state environment. Strong understanding of payroll regulations and employment tax requirements. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments. Experience with payroll software such as Paychex is beneficial.
