Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

As part of a collaborative school environment, you’ll facilitate communication between deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff. Your skills will be essential in fostering inclusion, accessibility, and academic success.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid and current credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Minimum of a 3.5 EIPA score
- Previous experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings is a plus
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL)
- Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to various school sites and grade levels
Your impact will include:
- Providing in-person interpreting services throughout the school day
- Supporting students’ full participation in classroom activities, assemblies, and other school events
- Accurately conveying spoken and signed communication between staff, students, and parents
- Collaborating with general and special education teachers to maximize student engagement
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all situations
Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule with 37.5 hours per week, starting August 3, 2026, and running through May 28, 2027. Placement will be at one of several welcoming campuses across Beaufort and Bluffton, with the opportunity to work within supportive school communities and make a lasting difference.
