Role Description Direct Support Professionals (DSP) work on-site at homes located in West Michigan (Walker, Sparta, Rockford, and Howard City). Now hiring 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts. This role involves providing daily support to adults with disabilities in a home setting, including assistance with personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and household tasks. The Direct Support Professional helps residents participate in community activities, outings, and social events, encouraging independence and engagement. Responsibilities also include monitoring safety, documenting care and progress, following individualized support plans, and collaborating with families and team members. The role requires building trusting relationships with residents, promoting dignity and respect, and contributing to a positive, stable home environment. Qualifications Background in caretaking with an understanding and passion for person-centered support and care. Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build respectful, supportive relationships with residents and coworkers. Experience or interest in supporting individuals with disabilities, including patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusion. Ability to participate in and apply training related to caregiving, safety, behavioral support, and organizational policies. Reliability in maintaining schedules, documentation, and consistent support in a residential setting. High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for transporting residents to appointments and community activities, if required. Applicants will be required to have a background check and have fingerprinting completed.
