The Civil Division also serves:Collections: The Collections section represents public colleges, universities, agencies, boards and commissions for the State in pursuit of the monies owed these entities.The Criminal Division assists federal, state, and local agencies in the investigation and prosecution of a wide range of criminal matters. The Criminal Division is comprised of White-Collar Crimes, Violent Crime and Drug Unit, Sexual Predator Apprehension Team, and the Insurance Fraud Unit. The Criminal Division also serves:Federalism Division: The Solicitor General's office within the Federalism Division coordinates the involvement of the Attorney General's Office in cases before the United States Supreme Court, assists the Louisiana Department of Justice in preparing and presenting appellate cases in state and federal courts, directly handles select appeals, and coordinates the involvement of the Attorney General's Office with Amicus Curiae briefs.Gaming Division: The Gaming Division represents the state and all agencies and boards with jurisdiction over gaming matters and regulation for riverboat gaming, land-based gaming, slots-at-the-track gaming, and video poker.Litigation Division: The Litigation Division provides legal representation to the State of Louisiana and state employees in tort claims seeking damages in the areas of Civil Rights, General Liability, Medical Malpractice, Road Hazard, Transportation, and Worker's Compensation.Medicaid Fraud Control Unit: The Louisiana Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) has the responsibility to investigate and prosecute all types of fraud perpetrated by providers of medical services in the Medicaid program.
