Industrial Shipping Clerk Pay: $20.00 per hour (DOE) Hours: 5am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri, & 8hr shift on Saturday Location: Port of Catoosa
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to support daily shipping and material handling operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for preparing finished units for shipment, loading and unloading materials, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, and ensuring all shipment components are properly secured and documented. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, organized, and comfortable working independently while coordinating with the shipping team.
Responsibilities
Prepare finished units for shipment, including wrapping and securing piping and loose components.
Load units onto trucks using overhead cranes.
Operate a forklift daily to move materials and products throughout the facility.
Palletize, band, wrap, and secure loose items for shipment.
Verify all required parts and components are included before shipment.
Coordinate with the Shipping Coordinator regarding shipping documentation and outgoing materials.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
Communicate potential material or supply issues to supervisors to help prevent production delays.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety procedures and required equipment training.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of forklift and/or material handling experience required. Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred. Overhead crane experience is a plus. Basic reading skills. Strong verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to safely palletize, band, wrap, and secure materials. Dependable with a demonstrated history of excellent attendance. Ability to complete required forklift, overhead crane, and other safety training.
