Senior Manager, Inventory Planning & Replenishment

To do this, we are seeking talented, motivated individuals to bring their passion and drive to the NAPA team.The Sr. Manager, Inventory Planning & Replenishment will lead a team responsible for meeting Service and Inventory productivity objectives for assigned product categories or areas. He/She will be responsible for the performance of a team made up of Inventory Planning & Replenishment Managers, Sr. Buyers, and Buyers. This person will drive collaboration with Product Management, Sales, Suppliers, and other functional Supply Chain Groups to ensure that the IPR team is aligned with the overall business strategy.The Sr. Manager must be able to influence and communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization, possess strong decision-making and analytical capabilities, provide leadership while fostering a team atmosphere and help resolve issues that arise in the course of business.Summary of essential job functionsProvide oversight, leadership, analytics, and guidance to a team of inventory Managers, Sr. Analysts, and Analysts while improving overall performanceDevelop options for and make recommendations to executive leadership with regard to inventory stocking and channel management strategiesAchieve and exceed customer service targets while relentlessly driving inventory efficiency and productivityCollaborate with Category Managers, Vendors, and other partners ensure alignment to the overall business strategy.Identify working capital and expense reduction opportunitiesManage team(s) accountable for service, inventory and excess metrics:Directly manage Managers, Sr. Analysts, and AnalystsLead a team of Analysts responsible for managing and improving supply chain performanceFoster environment of data-based decision making, continuous improvement and waste reductionDevelop your team for career growthPartner with vendors to determine appropriate score-carding metrics in support of business and supply chain execution strategyRepresent supply chain in product and business strategy discussionsModel and articulate trade-offs for key decision makersPosition Performance Measures:Service Metrics (in-stock, inventory health, network fill rates, etc.)Inventory Turnover and investment metricsExcess ReductionManage TalentWorking Capital and Expense ReductionResponsibilities: The following section contains the primary responsibilities for this position. Job holder is responsible for performing any other duties as assigned by management.Manage/Lead/People Development – 40%Lead a team of Managers, Sr. Analysts, and AnalystsArticulate departmental vision/objectives and challenge team to develop execution strategyAlign personal motivators with business objectivesReinforce a culture of continuous improvementSell and influence across the organization to gain support for initiativesManage assigned resources in support of business objectivesSupply Chain Optimization – 20%Collaborate with Category (Merchant) leaders, Vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business strategies.Develop execution strategies that optimize total cost of ownership and customer service objectivesPartner with vendors to determine appropriate score-carding metrics in support of business and supply chain execution strategyDevelop supply plans to support price changes, promotions and seasonal eventsSupport Business Development – 20%Represent Supply Chain during product and business management discussions. Model and articulate tradeoffs for key decisionsCollaborate with Product, Sales and Suppliers on all new product introductions and vendor changeovers to ensure the supply chain is positioned to support business executionProvide analysis and recommendationsMonitor and communicate supply chain performance to key stakeholdersSupply Chain Management 20%Serve as a partner and supply chain expert for Category (Merchant) leaders, Vendors, and other stakeholdersOwn supply chain relationships with key vendors. Attend regular meetings and identify areas of collaboration improve performance and reduce unproductive inventoryFull accountability for service, turn over, excess, expense and working capital performance metricsExperience, Education, and Abilities:10 years of supply chain, logistics or operations experienceAt least 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience leading high performing teamsBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. MBA or advanced degree a plusExpert level understanding of supply chain and inventory managementDemonstrated results within an Inventory Planning & Replenishment OrganizationDeep understanding of key tools for Planning (Channel Management, Stocking Strategies, etc.), Productivity measurements (inventory velocity), and Inventory ForecastingDemonstrated experience analyzing complex supply chain problems, scenario modeling, and articulating tradeoffs to businessExpertise with large data sets, analytical modeling, and data visualization tools preferredStrong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills with capacity to tailor style to the audienceInterpersonal skills necessary to sell and influence across the organizationPhysical Demands and Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
