Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.The Additive Manufacturing Process and Capability Center (AMPCC) encompasses a critical mass of Additive Manufacturing (AM) process and industrialization experts, the necessary equipment, and develops the strategic collaborations needed to rapidly mature the technology and manufacturing readiness of AM. The AMPCC is focused on the research, development, and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units.What You Will DoDevelop advanced process parameters to enable complex geometries with enhanced material propertiesInvestigate sources of machine variability and develop methods to eliminate observed variabilityExecute and oversee development builds on various Additive Manufacturing machinesCollaborate with internal and external groups to develop whitepapers, project concepts, and responsive proposalsExplore the capabilities of advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process spaceDevelop machine installation, machine operation, and part qualification processes and standardsWork with RTX Business Units to understand and address their needsLead projects to advance the industrialization of AM at RTXQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a University Engineering Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experienceExperience with Additive Manufacturing tools and processesScripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similarHands on experience with metal laser powder-bed-fusion AM equipmentBasic understanding of low voltage sensors and control systemsQualifications We PreferPhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field. A minimum 3.5 GPA is desirable.The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
