Assistant Ammunition Manager

Full-time Position in Coronado, California with 10% travel contingent upon award.

Position Summary: Weapons Department personnel assist the LOGSU-1 Weapons Officer and Weapons LCPO in the day-to-day operation of the weapons department to include Armory, Ordnance and VAS divisions. Responsible for all duties relating to the controls and monitoring of ordnance functions, ordnance system functions, Arms Ammunition and Explosives functions, conventional explosive safety and the establishment of requirements in support of new training events. This includes the safe stowage and issuance of ordnance and maintaining 100% accountability of ammunition.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Weapons Officer and LCPO in armory and ordnance operations
• Coordinate and support handling, storage, and shipment of ammunition and explosive materials
• Review, process, and analyze ordnance-related policies and procedures
• Maintain 100% accountability through proper processing of ammunition issue and receipt documentation
• Develop and manage storage and issue schedules for ammunition and explosives
• Provide armory support, including inventory, issue, repair, and maintenance of weapons systems
• Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance programs related to ordnance operations

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizen
• Valid U.S. driver's license
• Must hold an active Secret Security Clearance
• Experience with installation level and strategic support logistic programs and systems that relate to logistic capability and capacity
• Experience producing inventory schedules
• Experience with ordnance handling, storage, transportation, and accountability procedures
• Experience interpreting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to ordnance operations
• Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Must be able to operate Government vehicles, forklifts, and vans
• Must maintain professional work ethic and reliability
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills
• Must maintain accurate documentation and reporting
• Must comply with security, safety, and drug-free workplace requirements
• Must be capable of working within classified environments and systems (NIPRNET/SIPRNET)

Physical Ability to:

• Ability to lift and move ammunition and related equipment safely
• Capability to stand and work for extended periods in armory or storage environments
• Ability to work in high-risk environments requiring strict adherence to safety protocols
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
