Overview EMS Dispatcher III - EMS/MICU - Per Diem - Varies - Atlantic Mobile Health. Florham Park, NJ, United States Job Description The AtlanticMobileHealth DispatcherIII is an integral part of the Emergency Medical Services Department supporting the Basic and Advanced Life Support personnel. The dispatcher is responsible for the assignment of the most appropriate ALS and/or BLS resources to meet the patient and customer’s needs while ensuring safe completion of the emergency through superior communication and customer service skills. The dispatcher uses multiple phone lines, six computer screens and wall monitors containing information ranging from Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to telecommunications equipment, mapping software, vehicle tracking software, weather and traffic information to assure the safety of medical crews. Coordination with other EMS teams and the regional Communications Center ensures safe operations and the necessary logistical support for the mission. The ideal candidate is committed to safety, detail-oriented, and able to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where finding solutions to complex logistical challenges is a must. World-class customer service and communication skills are mandatory. Responsibilities Initiate the transmission of messages using multiple forms of communications including radio, pager, mobile data and phone in a professional manner. Receive all emergency calls requesting Basic Life Support services for municipalities and clients in North and Central New Jersey, including mutual aid requests from other agencies. Receive all emergency calls requesting Advanced Life Support services for the Mobile Intensive Care programs the Communications Center provides services for, including mutual aid requests from other agencies. Answer 911 lines and provide screenings and pre-arrival instructions for calls requiring Emergency Medical Services. Dispatch units by radio and telephone equipment in accordance with established protocols. Monitor and record status and location of all vehicles and personnel. Coordinate with hospitals to provide information from the scene of large-scale incidents, including incoming patient information per established protocols. Maintain hospital diversion status with periodical updates when necessary. Troubleshoot all radio problems and notify the supervisor for assistance. Staff the EMS Communications Unit that responds to scenes and pre-planned events when requested. Operate all equipment under the Rules and Regulations of the FCC and the New Jersey State Department of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services, as pertains to the function of a Mobile Healthcare Communications Center. Qualifications High school diploma/GED/equivalent Education: 911 Officer (BTC) and EMD (New Jersey or National Academy) preferred Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic preferred 1+ year of previous emergency and/or medical transport dispatching experience strongly preferred About Us Atlantic Mobile Health is a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing fast air and ground medical transportation services.
