Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – North Carolina

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, 36 or 48 hours per week with every other weekend requirement. Patient ratio 1:6. Self-scheduling available.

Highlights:

• Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit with 36 beds caring for diverse patient populations including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, CHF, renal failure, surgical recovery, and stroke patients
• Remote telemetry monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• 13 to 26-week contract opportunities available with up to 7 days approved time off per contract
• 24-hour orientation with Epic charting experience preferred and Pyxis medication system
• First-time travelers accepted with float requirements to nearby campus location as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, wound care/wound vac, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula), and post-dialysis management
• Proficiency with feeding tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, chest tubes, IV therapy including heparin and insulin, and isolation precautions
• Charge experience preferred
• Ability to work holidays and participate in emergency preparedness (Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
