Summary This position is located in FEMA's Region 10 Mission Support Division, Finance Branch in Bothell, WA. The ideal candidate has experience managing complex federal acquisitions, advising stakeholders on procurement strategy, negotiating contracts, and ensuring Federal Acquisition Regulation compliance in mission-driven operations. Learn more about this agency Duties Help What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Contract Specialist for FEMA's Regional Offices, Region Ten, Mission Support Division, Finance Branch in Bothell, WA. Typical assignments include:
- Serving as a Contracting Specialist in support of FEMA Region Ten and disaster field offices within the region, including contract formation, solicitation, negotiations, cost and price analysis, award, contract administration, termination, and close-out.
- Functioning as a team lead to assign, and balance the work of team members, establish priorities, monitor progress, evaluate completed work, and ensure assignments are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve acquisition issues, obtain required resources, and ensure contract actions support mission requirements and strategic priorities.
- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

- Employees who occupy GS-1102 positions at grades 5 through 12 will be considered to meet the basic requirements for other GS-1102 positions up to and including those classified at the GS-12. This includes positions at other agencies and promotions only up through grade 12. However, the employee must meet specialized experience requirements when seeking another positions. Exceptions are different for the GS-13 grade level concerning promotions.
- Advising management, customers, or contractors on federal acquisition regulations; and,
- Preparing contracting pre-award functions (i.e., preparing solicitation documents, analyzing proposals, negotiating with potential contractors, etc.); and,
- Administering/closing contracts such as monitoring progress, negotiating modifications or closeouts.
- FAC-C Professional or Legacy FAC-C Certification (Levels III)
- Legacy Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Contracting Certification (Levels I, II, or III)
- Department of Defense (DoD) Contracting Professional Certification.
