Who We Want Miller Industries is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector for our 1st Shift in Fenton, Michigan. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, with overtime as required for production on weekends. What You Will Be Doing Conduct comprehensive inspections and assessments of manufacturing activities, including part alignment and visual evaluations. Guarantee adherence to welding standards and documentation, specifically AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code. Facilitate welder qualification tests, including minor destructive evaluations. Manage records and reports related to welding inspections and process compliance. Ensure operational efficiency and compliance by examining welding equipment daily. Analyze fabrication blueprints and incorporate them into quality check procedures. Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the company's Quality Assurance initiatives. Occasional travel may be required. What You Get Paid The position pays a competitive hourly rate. What Requirements Are Needed Certified Welding Inspector. High school diploma required, with a preference for advanced education. NDT Level II preferred. Proficient in mathematics. Minimum of five years of hands‑on welding experience. Extensive understanding of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code and manufacturing processes is essential. Expertise in maintaining detailed documentation, inspections, and quality control. Proficient in MS Office and adept at leveraging technology for documentation. Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy. Physical & Mental Requirements Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties. Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
