Overview Trauma Program Education Specialist (RN) – Valley Park, Missouri. Specialty: Trauma | Discipline: RN | Employment Type: Staff | Duration: Ongoing | Shift: 5/8 hour shifts Monday‑Friday. Responsibilities Act as course director for ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), TNS (Trauma Nurse Specialist), ATCN (Advanced Trauma Clinical Nursing), and other nationally recognized certification courses. Procure pre‑course materials, ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate, and manage course budgets, logging expenses and reporting to the Trauma Program Manager. Recruit physician and nursing instructors and lay volunteers, conduct required course audits, and maintain accountability for all course outcomes. Research current best practices, design courses, and provide instruction to inpatient care providers on trauma and surgical patient care. Serve as an expert in trauma care for employees across the enterprise, advising on orientation and skills training for inpatient and outpatient units. Collaborate with university partners to organize CME opportunities and maintain CME/CE records for trauma services in compliance with ACS standards. Lead collaborative meetings between Trauma/ACCS services and inpatient units and/or Emergency Department, preparing agendas and following up on outcomes. Assess needs, develop content, and deliver community education through nationally recognized injury prevention courses. Support Trauma/ACCS services in meeting ACS requirements for EMS outreach by providing continuing education. Develop and implement program initiatives with house‑wide partners to improve care of Trauma/ACCS patients, monitor data, and report outcomes for presentations. Represent Trauma Services as Education Specialist at state, local, and national presentations. Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent. Registered Nurse (RN) license. 5‑10 years of RN experience, preferably in trauma settings. Preferred Requirements Master’s degree in nursing or related field. Experience as an educator in certification courses such as TNCC, ACLS, ATLS, ATCN, FCCS, RTTDC. Supervisor experience within a nursing or educational program.
