Registered Nurse (RN) - SICU - Surgical Intensive Care - $32-48 per hour

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a SICU – Surgical Intensive Care position located at Valley Park, Missouri (Unit 7800, Parkview Tower on BJH North Campus). Job Details Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care (SICU) Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN) Duration: Ongoing (Full‑time) Employment Type: Staff Schedule: Nights primarily; days available for candidates with 5+ years ICU experience Role Purpose Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing care standards. Responsibilities Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment and educate patients and families on post‑treatment home care and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and engage in professional development. Develop, implement and document individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family or caregiver, ensuring continuity of care across the continuum. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs per standards of care; assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Safety Considerations This is a safety‑sensitive position that requires constant state of alertness and safe behavior.
