Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Unarmed Screening Patrol in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a dynamic tech-focused location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access awareness through strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will reflect our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, work as part of a team, and act with integrity while putting people first.

- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a technology-focused location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout offices, lobbies, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and report security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
- Support site operations by maintaining accurate activity logs, completing incident reports, and assisting with directions, escorts, and other customer service needs during assigned shifts.
Minimum Requirements:
- A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
