Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans. Supervises nursing staff and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate patient conditions by collecting and analyzing health data to determine nursing diagnoses.
Develop individualized care plans aimed at achieving optimal health outcomes.
Implement nursing interventions and coordinate with healthcare team members to deliver effective care.
Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as needed to meet changing health needs.
Educate patients and families on health management, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff in accordance with licensure and facility protocols.

Qualifications:

Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Demonstrate at least two years of recent experience in a medical-surgical setting preferred.
Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Have proficiency in electronic medical record systems such as EPIC and Cerner.
Exhibit strong critical thinking and excellent communication skills.
