Accounts Receivable SpecialistThe Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate records of customer accounts, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. This role works closely with customers, sales, and internal teams to resolve billing issues, apply payments, and support cash flow goals.Essential FunctionsProcess and apply incoming payments via check, ACH, or credit cardsGenerate and send invoices and account statements to customers upon requestMonitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up on past due balancesInvestigate and resolve customer payment discrepancies and billing issuesCommunicate with internal departments to ensure accurate invoicing and documentationMaintain accurate and organized records of all receivables activityAssist with month-end close by preparing AR aging statements and account reconciliationsSupport the finance team during audits with requested documentationRespond promptly and professionally to customer inquiriesAssist customers in set-up / accounts receivable portal troubleshootingOther duties as assigned.Core CompetenciesAccuracy and Attention to DetailCommunicationTime ManagementCustomer ServiceProblem SolvingJob Specific CompetenciesProficiency with accounting software and Microsoft ExcelFamiliarity with invoicing and collections best practicesUnderstanding of basic accounting principlesAbility to manage multiple accounts and prioritize workloadWork EnvironmentThis role operates in a professional office environment.Physical DemandsProlonged periods sitting and working on a computerOccasional lifting of files or documents up to 10 poundsExpected Hours of WorkMonday through Friday, full-time hours.
