Lead Checker

Description

Summary:

The Lead Checkers are responsible for overseeing an assigned group of Checkers, ensuring they accurately scan picker badges throughout the orchard. The Lead Checker will monitor their team's performance, maintain communication with their assigned Operational Team Leader, and help maintain efficiency and accuracy in attendance tracking. Works starts at 5:00am, Monday through Sunday.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take attendance for the Picker and Orchard Support Crew

• Lead and supervise a team of checkers


• Manage the rotation, schedule, and breaks of each checker

• Ensure checkers are correctly scanning badges and following proper procedures

• Maintain awareness of Safety concerns and address any potential hazards


• Report absences to the assigned Operational Team Leader


• Report any issues related to PickTrace to the Operational Team Leader and the Payroll Department

• Collect all devices from checkers at the end of the day and ensure each checker signs the device check in sheet


• Properly clean and disinfect all devices at the end of the day


• Follow directions from the Lead Checker and Operational Tema Leader.


• Report absences, accidents, or other concerns to the Punch Coordinator or assigned Operation Team Leader.


• Collect and report all required documentation for employees.


• Follow all safety procedures and food hygiene standards.


• Inspect bins prior to any employee dumping their bucket of cherries and removing any contaminants, including:


o Branches


o Leaves


o Bird droppings or other debris


Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older


• Must complete required training provided by Orchard View, Inc.


• Ability to understand verbal instructions in Spanish and/or English and read warning signs and labels.


• Possess a valid driver's license


• Must have reliable transportation to assigned work locations.

Working Conditions:

• Work begins at 5:00 AM.


• Schedule includes Monday through Sunday workdays.


• Employees may work up to 10 hours per day and 60 hours per week.


• Regular exposure to outdoor orchard environments, including dirt, debris, odors, and noise.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and stretch for extended periods.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.


• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, temperatures, and uneven terrain.


• Must wear appropriate, clean clothing and footwear suitable for working conditions; clothing must be free of rips, tears, or loose fabric that could pose a safety risk.
