While each team member is hired for a primary position (such as Server / Cashier, Pizza Maker, Steam Cook / Prep, Dishwasher), changes in sales volume may require assistance in other duties. Each Team Member is encouraged to be cross‑trained. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Server / Cashier Serve customers within the assigned station, following prescribed methods and standards for guest service, including greeting, suggesting purchases, proper serving procedures, checking satisfaction and adhering to recipe compliance. Maintain product knowledge of all menu items and specials. Receive payments for all transactions following cash handling procedures. Follow all required procedures outlined in Sbarro cash handling policy. Demonstrate full working knowledge of the Sbarro point‑of‑sale register system. Perform cleaning and stocking duties per daily operating procedures. Practice food safety and sanitation standards required of foodservice establishments. Follow cost control systems, including employee food policy and waste guidelines. Assist other team members when required. Use gloves, utensils and portion sizes correctly; maintain temperature and presentation of food. Communicate promptly with co‑workers and management regarding food quantity and quality. Other duties as assigned. Pizza Maker Prepare all food products in accordance with the Recipe Manual and Recipe Cards while using safe, sanitary procedures. Assess sales volume relative to pizza preparation and production. Communicate timely with co‑workers and management about food levels and quality. Perform cleaning and stocking duties per daily operating procedures. Practice food safety and sanitation standards. Follow food safety, temperature controls and cost control systems, including employee food policy and waste guidelines. Serve customers within the assigned station, following prescribed methods and standards for guest service. Maintain product knowledge of all menu items and specials. Use equipment, gloves, utensils and portion sizes appropriately; ensure temperature and presentation of food. Assist other team members when required. Other duties as assigned. Steam Cook / Prep Prepare all food products per the Recipe Manual and Recipe Cards with predetermined safety and sanitary procedures. Operate all station preparatory equipment safely (knives, steam cooker, dough machine, pizza oven, stove, etc.). Function independently to prepare product according to production schedules. Maintain displayed steam table items as per Sbarro Recipe Manual and local health requirements. Follow FIFO rotation for new and prepared products. Adhere to food safety, time, temperature controls and cost control systems, including employee food policy and waste guidelines. Dishwasher Maintain sink area, dining room tables, service stations and restrooms in clean, sanitized condition per procedures. Clean and sanitize all utensils, pots, pans, towels, and trays; knives are excluded from routine sanitation. Wash and sanitize storage areas, including walk‑in freezers and refrigerators. Serve customers as needed within the assigned station, following prescribed methods and standards for guest service. Perform cleaning and stocking duties per operating procedures. Assist other team members when required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Handle stressful situations calmly and pleasantly. Manage multiple tasks. Employment Standards Employees must be at least 16 years of age and possess all documents and permits required by law. Employees under 18 cannot use any machines, equipment, or tools prohibited by law. Previous restaurant experience is helpful but not required.
