Weld Engineer

Weld EngineerThe Weld Engineer is responsible for oversight of Welders, Laser Operators, Die Setters, and Tooling Support. As a working supervisor, this position will be required to work on tasks within the department regularly. This role will also aide in creation, documentation, and implementation of improvement procedures that will allow the company to run more efficiently and safely.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1. Manage department workflow and address any employee concerns.2. Train and monitor new and existing employees.3. Select proper set-ups for welding operations for a team of welders.4. Perform typical MIG and TIG welding operations per prints5. Perform prescribed maintenance as required.6. Perform all dimensional inspections.7. Results Driven.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position supervises a team of fabricators and supporting members.Required Education and Experience1. Three to five years of progressive experience and responsibility in MIG and TIG welding and leadership in a manufacturing setting.2. Ability to read/understand blueprints and GD&T3. Familiarity with bed-style cutting, presses, robotic welding, and saws4. Raw material handling5. Experience in a leadership rolePreferred Education and Experience1. Bachelor's Weld Engineering or related field.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
