Insurance Litigation Paralegal

Description Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick (CCK) is a private, public‑interest law firm offering rewarding work with a focus on disabled military veterans and their families, as well as a wide range of other individuals who have been denied life, health, and disability benefits. CCK is seeking a detail‑orientated and proactive Insurance Litigation Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will handle insurance litigation claims and appeals, representing individuals during their application, appeals, and litigation of life, health, short‑term disability and long‑term disability insurance benefits under private insurance contracts and employer group plans. The position also involves some Social Security Disability and personal injury matters. Responsibilities Communicate regularly with clients, doctors’ offices, and insurance companies via phone and email. Obtain all documentation necessary to support a client’s claim for benefits. Conduct case research and assist attorneys with case development. Review, analyze, and assess client case files to determine next steps. Prepare benefit claim forms and draft appeals of denied benefits. Process incoming and outgoing mail. Perform administrative support for attorneys as needed. Draft letters and other documents. Proofread and review important procedural documents before they are mailed out. Requirements Bachelor’s degree is required, with a strong academic record. Strong attention to detail, ability to multi‑task, and excellent written & verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and with a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software. Compensation & Benefits Starting annual salary is $42,500.
