About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Atlanta, Georgia, 30322!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: NOC Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: GA or compact license in hand Certifications: CCRN preferred Must-Have: - Requires PA lines. - Rare vents and no IABP, no impellas. - Level of care includes presurgical patients. Description: The unit is a 12-bed, 24-hour observation area that will be utilized by the entire heart and vascular service line. Patients on this unit will be a combination of low acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in various ICU and stepdown units. No ventilators, CRRT, or Impellas will be accepted to this unit. The unit will accommodate LVADs, 2-4 drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters. This unit will also serve as an observation area for patients who came in for a same-day procedure that may need to be monitored for a longer period but plan to be discharged home, assuming all goes well. The step-down unit will be a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patient turnover and a wide variety of patient diagnoses. It will provide an excellent learning platform for diverse cardiovascular procedures and diagnoses. Working in this environment will develop organizational skills and critical thinking. This position will also be a great opportunity to develop critical care skills and enhance assessment abilities. A rhythm identification test will be required once the nurse starts, and there will be two attempts offered for passing.
