Job Title: Welder and Fitter Job Description

The Fitter Welder is responsible for fitting parts for manufacturing units. This role requires the ability to make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, and bolt components to position for welding.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Develop templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Maintain and complete all required records and production documentation.
• Layout, fit nozzles, supports, and couplings per blueprint into shell.
• Remove rough spots from workpieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report defective tools and equipment.
• Operate a forklift and crane.

Essential Skills

• Welding and Mig welding skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and strong mathematical skills.
• Capability to use and read level, tapes, protractors, and various tools.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
• Ability to pass applicable welding test GMAW (MIG), including Fluxcore.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or vocational certificate in welding preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position with working hours from Friday through Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Although scheduled for 36 hours, you will be compensated for 40 hours. The work environment is non-temperature controlled with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles typical of metal fabrication shops. All employees must wear personal protective equipment, including noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, safety harness, a full-face grinding shield, welding hood, and OSHA-compliant safety boots/shoes while in the manufacturing facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sand Springs, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
