Field Service Technician

divh2Field Service Technician/h2pThe primary function of this role is to conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of industrial x-ray inspection equipment. This equipment includes electrical/electronic control, PC, PLC, and motion controls./ppScope and Responsibilities of Position:/pulliTravel to customer site to diagnosis and repair of industrial test equipment; including but not limited to high voltage generators, electrical panels, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Personal Computer (PC), control software and automation components./liliTravel to customer site for preventative maintenance, installations as well as emergency service./liliEnsure that all customer concerns are addressed, and the appropriate follow-up is taken./liliProvide customers with timely updates regarding ETA onsite./liliAssist manufacturing with system integration and installation./liliWork with the Service Coordinator on scheduling, parts orders/returns etc./liliAssist customers over the phone with technical problems and troubleshooting./liliTrain customers on basic operation and maintenance where applicable./li/ulpSecondary Responsibilities:/pulliOther duties as assigned including, but not limited to, phone/remote support./liliAssist in system moves and/or system qualifications where needed./liliAdhere to NSIs waste management and recycling policies/li/ulpMachines, Tools, Equipment (Office and Industrial), Software Used:/pulliElectronic test equipment such as Oscilloscope and Multi-meter/li/ulpPhysical and Visual Activities:/pulliSitting, standing, bending and looking at monitors/li/ulpPhysical Demands:/pulli75% + Travel and overtime, must be able to sit for extended periods/li/ulpEnvironmental/Atmospheric Conditions:/pulliMuch of the work will be completed at customer site with up to 80% travel required./li/ulpSupervisory Controls:/pulliMinimal/li/ulpSupervision Exercised:/pulliNone/li/ulpEducation Required:/pulliHigh School Diploma/liliSpecialized Training/liliAssociates Degree/liliBachelors Degree/li/ulpKnowledge Required:/pulliAbility to read, comprehend and interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics./liliAbility to interpret schematic and electrical diagrams./liliStrong ability to use electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscope and Multi-meter./liliAbility to communicate effectively in a professional environment./liliAbility to work independently with a high sense of urgency./liliAbility to maintain composure in high pressure situations./liliAbility to manage service schedule that results in timely service for customer./liliStrong customer service/communications skills with a high level of professionalism./liliExperience with resolving technical issues in a highly sensitive environment./liliExperience working with multiple levels within an organization./li/ulpExperience Required:/pulliUp to 3 months/lili3 months up to 1 year/liliOver 1 year up to 3 years/liliOver 3 years up to 5 years/liliOver 5 years up to 7 years/liliOver 7 years up to 10 years/liliOver 10 years up to 13 years/liliOver 13 years/li/ulpITW is an equal opportunity employer.
