Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day direction and administration of all operational practices including but not limited to production planning, materials management, staffing, inventory controls, shipping and receiving.

Your tasks:

• Manages the efficient utilization of plant and production assets including materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts within developed budgets.
• Plans and coordinates work flow to ensure production objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Coordinates and assists with the appropriate department(s) and/or person(s) to ensure customer requests and/or needs are met.
• Provides supervision, direction, development, and leadership to employees to ensure satisfactory performance and goals are met.
• Implements and manages standards, policies, and procedures that align with department and corporate goals.
• Manages productivity levels of all workers to ensure maximum quantity and quality.
• Plays a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
• Manages housekeeping so that the plant is clean, safe, and well-maintained using LEAN 5S methodology.
• Responsible for the processes, documentation, implementation, and test procedures to maintain production operations and high quality standards as well as continuous improvement.
• Accountable for the safety of all production employees by enforcing established health and safety policies.
• Coordinates with Human Resources, all aspects of employee relations including, but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development, etc.
• Reliable attendance is a must.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
• Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
• Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, regulations, and strategies to promote a safe environment.
• Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
• Intermediate Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Intermediate Math Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Very High Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, Lotus Notes
• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of five years' experience in operations management
• Lean/Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt preferred)
• Specialized Training: 30 Hour OSHA, Forklift Certification, First Aid/CPR preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly supervises staff
