Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate documentation and billing for patient care activities, ensuring a comprehensive record of the patient's treatment journey under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, in line with state requirements. Keep ongoing communication with the supervising physical therapist.

• Exhibit effective time management skills and fulfill productivity goals. Maintain an accurate schedule while demonstrating a professional commitment to ensuring seamless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, and empathetic behavior in a patient-centered environment. Coordinate schedules for re-evaluations and discharge summaries to be conducted by a physical therapist.

• Engage in appropriate discharge planning, follow-up care, and assessment of equipment needs in collaboration with the supervising physical therapist. Show initiative by contributing innovative ideas for patient treatment and involve patients and their families in treatment and discharge planning through education and training. Provide patient treatment services, including reviewing relevant historical information, safely administering modalities, and delivering interventions within the treatment plan's scope under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Collaborate with other team members for an interdisciplinary approach when suitable.

• Identify and document changes in the patient's condition and assist in modifying the treatment plan in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, a licensed physical therapist. Provide verbal and written updates as necessary for patient progress meetings.

• Take the initiative in pursuing continuing education for personal and organizational professional growth and competency. Serve as a clinical instructor for assigned students when appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.

• Licensure in Maryland, the District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for your specific location(s).

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.

Compensation:

This position offers a salary range of USD $25.86 - USD $46.12 per hour.
