Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations to ensure strict adherence to federal regulations, FAR and GAAP. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) regulations, managing project-based accounting, and handling indirect costs. Accounting managers oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. They lead month- and year-end close processes, manage general ledger activities, and support budgeting and forecasting efforts. This role is ideal for professionals who have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles and the ability to drive operational efficiency and financial integrity.Primary Responsibilities:Compliance – FAR and DCAAProject AccountingIndirect Rate ManagementMonth End Close and Financial Statement creation Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.Maintains financial security by following internal controls.Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.Supervise accounting staff, payroll and accounts payable.Secondary Responsibilities:Subcontract PO maintenanceExpense reporting, Time, and PayrollSKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONRequired:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accountingMinimum 5-7 years’ experience in Accounting5+ years Government contracting experience2+ years Supervisory experienceDeltek Costpoint experienceAttention to DetailUS citizenship requiredPreferred:Concur Travel & Expense experienceFixed Asset management
