Senior Accounting Manager

Steadfast Executive Search has been engaged by a well-established, service-based organization in the Orlando market to identify a hands‑on accounting leader. This team is known for being collaborative and supportive and is seeking a trusted business partner to the CFO who can provide both strategic insight and day‑to‑day accounting leadership The organization is part of a larger, financially strong enterprise, offering the stability, resources, and reporting sophistication of a much larger company while maintaining the visibility, accessibility, and collaborative culture of a local operating business. This highly visible, fully on‑site leadership role offers direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to influence financial reporting, operational decision‑making, process improvement initiatives, and the organization’s continued growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and key accounting activities Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support job‑level financial tracking, including work‑in‑progress (WIP) and project cost analysis Analyze financial results and provide insight into operational trends and business performance Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes Support audit and compliance activities Drive process improvements that support scalability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff across core accounting functions Partner with executive leadership on financial and operational initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience leading, mentoring, or supervising accounting staff Experience within construction, specialty contracting, HVAC/mechanical services, manufacturing, industrial, engineering, project‑based services, homebuilding, aerospace/defense, or other operationally intensive environments is strongly preferred Experience with work‑in‑progress (WIP), job cost accounting, project accounting, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, or similar operational accounting environments is strongly preferred Strong understanding of financial reporting, month‑end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls ERP system experience required Candidates must be comfortable working onsite full‑time in the Orlando area Base salary generally targeted between $140,000–$160,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the position Bonus opportunity based on company and individual performance About Us Steadfast Executive Search LLC is a boutique search firm specializing in direct‑hire accounting and finance recruitment throughout Florida.
