Job Title: Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are looking for an Engineering Technician capable of working with engineering drawings and detailed work instructions. The ideal candidate will perform precision drilling, countersinking, and hole preparation on composite, plywood, and metallic structures. You will also prepare surfaces for and apply structural adhesive bonds and install structural fasteners such as rivets, blind fasteners, and threaded inserts.

Responsibilities

• Work to engineering drawings and detailed work instructions.
• Perform precision drilling, countersinking, and hole preparation on various materials.
• Prepare surfaces for and apply structural adhesive bonds.
• Install structural fasteners to torque and spacing specifications.
• Trim composite and plywood parts to net dimensions.

Essential Skills

• Experience with mechanical assembly and electro-mechanical assembly.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque tools, and hand tools.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 standards, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma practices.
• Experience with preventive maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in defense and aerospace industry is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Griffon's advanced drone technology is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at the location in Madison, AL. You will have the opportunity to work with advanced drone technology and be part of a team making a direct impact on products supporting real-world defense applications. The environment encourages learning from experienced teams and offers a chance to enter the aerospace industry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, AL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
