A day in the life on the turning floor

Step into our CNC machine shop in Phoenix, AZ, where precision and teamwork drive every shift. We have two immediate openings for a CNC Turning Specialist who takes pride in turning raw stock into flawless parts. You’ll help deliver components that consistently meet customer specifications while keeping safety and throughput front and center.

What your day looks like

You begin by reviewing drawings and work travelers, loading programs, setting tools, and dialing in work offsets. As the run progresses, you watch the lathe closely, making fine adjustments to maintain surface finish and dimensional accuracy. You’ll perform quick maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues to keep uptime high. Before sign-off, you verify results with micrometers, calipers, and other gauges, document everything cleanly, and collaborate with engineers and teammates to refine the process for the next cycle. You wrap by leaving a spotless, safe station ready for the following job.

What you’ll handle

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts per drawings and specifications.
• Continuously monitor operations and tweak feeds, speeds, and offsets to sustain quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep machines performing at their best.
• Inspect parts using measuring tools to confirm accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
• Partner with engineers and peers to improve processes and resolve production issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in line with all safety protocols.
• Accurately document production details and maintain clear records of work performed.

What helps you thrive here

• High school diploma or equivalent; a machining-related certificate or technical training is a plus.
• Hands-on experience on CNC lathes with a solid grasp of CNC programming concepts and machining processes.
• Fluent in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Uncompromising attention to detail and dedication to high-quality output.
• Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools; familiar with quality control practices.
• Strong problem-solver with a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.
