Summary

The Vice President, Provider Solutions Business Architecture owns the Provider business architecture, requirements validation, application design, and configuration model, process, and standards that enables consistent, compliant, and cost-effective delivery across Provider DDIs. This executive establishes reusable process models, requirements and configuration standards, and governance that translate Provider strategy, contractual commitments, client needs, and regulatory requirements into executable DDI designs with our clients. The role aligns Product, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Solutioning, Implementation, Customer Experience, and client stakeholders; governs business and application design decisions; and drives Provider transformation through standardization, reuse, automation, and delivery of architecture evolution through DDIs. This leader manages a growing team of 50+ professionals supporting Provider DDIs.

Your role in our mission

• Own end-to-end baseline Provider business architecture across enrollment, screening, credentialing, provider data management, portals, interfaces, correspondence, and related capabilities.
• Establish reusable process models, capability maps, roles, information flows, business rules, and reference designs that support consistent Provider solutions across clients.
• Lead application design and configuration standards, ensuring requirements, product capabilities, gaps, extensions, and configuration decisions are traceable and executable.
• Govern design decisions and exceptions through clear stage gates, decision rights, owners, deadlines, and escalation paths; prevent unnecessary customization and protect solution integrity.
• Ensure business requirements include clear how-met responses, acceptance and testing criteria, dependencies, and alignment to approved architecture and contractual commitments.
• Partner with Solutioning, Product, Engineering, and Implementation to translate proposals, contracts, and statements of work into governed designs before delivery commitments advance.
• Provide business-architecture leadership across Provider DDIs, including configuration readiness, product-gap resolution, client decisions, and transition of approved designs into implementation.
• Act as hands-on and servant leader to help teams solve complex client solution challenges to ensure DDI success.
• Monitor federal and state regulatory changes and ensure Provider processes, business rules, and application designs remain aligned with applicable requirements.
• Coordinate with executives across engineering, product management, solutioning, and implementation disciplines to drive prompt resolution of problems with cross-functional team.
• Drive DDI transformation through standardization, reusable assets, automation, AI-enabled design and configuration, and closed-loop adoption of implementation lessons.
• Measure and improve design reuse, configuration efficiency, quality, cycle time, and cost; make investment needs, tradeoffs, and decisions visible to Provider Solutions leadership.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, healthcare administration, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Fifteen or more years of progressively responsible business architecture, solution architecture, application design, product design, or enterprise healthcare technology experience, including ten or more years leading matrixed teams and five or more years at the senior director, vice president, or equivalent level.
• Ten or more years supporting Medicaid, public-sector healthcare, or similarly regulated programs, including five or more years in Medicaid Provider solutions or implementations.
• Leadership of business architecture and application design for at least two large-scale, multi-workstream implementations or enterprise solution transformations.
• Experience defining reusable process, requirements, configuration, and governance standards across multiple products, clients, or implementations.
• Experience resolving complex solutioning challenges with clients while implementing.
• Proven ability to lead a large-scale team with defined goals/objectives that align to the broader organization’s, and effectively manage and scale team to meet business demands.
• Demonstrated ownership of at least three core areas: business-process architecture, requirements quality and traceability, application design, configuration governance, or product-gap governance.
• Proven ability to align Product, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Solutioning, Implementation, Customer Experience, and client executives to approved designs, owners, decisions, and target dates.
• Demonstrated experience translating proposals, contracts, statements of work, and regulatory requirements into executable business and application designs.
• Quantified improvement in at least two outcomes, such as design reuse, configuration efficiency, cycle time, quality, delivery cost, or reduction of product gaps and custom development.

What you should expect in this role

• Executive accountability for Provider business architecture, application design, and configuration standards across multiple DDIs and transformation initiatives, as well as overall solution delivery success with active DDIs.
• Operation in a highly matrixed environment requiring influence across business, product, technology, implementation, client, and supporting functions.
• A 100% remote role with travel based on client, program, and leadership needs, anticipated up to 15% annually.

The pay range for this position is $160,000.00 - $228,600.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
