Family Services Coordinator

Job Description The mission of the Campus Life Services – Family Services unit is to increase productivity, recruitment and retention by supporting the well‑being of UCSF faculty, students, trainees and staff through child care support, lactation accommodation services, parent education and other resources and assistance. The families served comprise a diverse group in terms of socioeconomic level, family composition, ethnicity, race and culture. The Family Services Coordinator’s job duties are multi‑fold. The Coordinator administers the Child Care Referral Service, sourcing and providing information to UCSF families in the areas of child care, public and private schools, summer camps and UC/UCSF‑specific benefits. In collaboration with the Family Services Manager the Coordinator creates content for the MyFamily web portal and Family Services website, handles general communications and contributes to program planning and development. The Coordinator also works with the Lactation Program Manager to support lactation accommodation services for the University. Responsibilities Administer the child care referral program and provide tailored child‑care and family‑related information. Respond to inquiries about child‑care regulations, wait lists, school enrollment, after‑school programs and care subsidies. Gather, analyze, and research additional resources as needed; maintain the licensed child‑care provider database. Collaborate with the Lactation Program Manager, Campus Facilities, Medical Facilities, and Hospitality Services to support and maintain campus lactation sites, overseeing furnishings, supplies, signage, and access; submit and track work orders and vendor requests. Coordinate program updates with the Lactation Program Manager. Update and distribute support and educational materials for families; maintain the family services chator board. Collect, analyze and report utilization data and survey information. Assist the Family Services Manager and Lactation Program Manager with program email accounts, draft newsletters, and update the website. Conduct outreach and marketing to the UCSF community. Engage in program evaluation and service delivery improvement; research opportunities for future services and partnerships. Abide by UCSF branding standards and digital editorial policies for all content created and utilized. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training. Knowledge of lactation accommodation policies (UCSC Policy PPSM84, California State SB.142, federal policies). Experience working with diverse populations and strong interpersonal skills. Professional customer‑service orientation. Computer proficiency (email, Word, Excel, web browsers, Zoom, web content management platforms). Good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality. Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications At least 2 years experience maintaining lactation sites (equipment, furnishings, signage, supplies). Knowledge of San Francisco child‑care options and other family services. Understanding of California child‑care regulations and how they differ by state. Ability to locate child‑care services across states. #J-18808-Ljbffr UCSF Health
