Lead Physical/Occup Therapist

Overview The Journeys and Adventures that Await: In collaboration with managers, senior managers, and the director of Physical & Occupational Therapy, the Lead promotes all aspects of the Physical & Occupational Therapy department throughout the DMG organization. Responsibilities Performs patient care in alignment with the respective job description (Staff Physical Therapist/Staff Occupational Therapist). Performs and delegates necessary tasks to provide quality patient care and maintain efficient workflow at the site. Assesses work of staff at the assigned site against expected outcomes, including productivity, quality, and efficiency. Assists with hiring, orientating, and training new staff, in partnership with Clerical Leads, Program Coordinators, or Senior Administration as needed; training may be done in partnership with site staff as appropriate. Assists with performance appraisals during the annual review period and interim performance reviews for new staff. Supervises work performed by site staff; counsels and coaches the team by guiding, directing, motivating, and mediating conflict resolution. Ensures work expectations, DMG, and Practice policies are communicated and understood. Participates in planning discussions for goals for the practice and individual staff members/therapists, meeting regularly with Manager/Senior Manager. Ensures a high-quality patient experience during all hours of patient care and serves as a resource regarding clinical issues. Directs staff questions to appropriate therapists, Program Coordinators, and Managers to ensure questions are answered. Responds to patient complaints and works to resolve concerns; involves Manager/Senior Manager when needed if resolution cannot be reached. Uses customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes as needed. Manages and maintains communication within the department, including feedback from referring physicians and updates on projects and initiatives. Supports staff development and recognizes staff who go above and beyond. Attends and actively participates in meetings and conference calls as requested. Maintains files and records according to DMG and HIPAA guidelines as appropriate and relevant. Reviews and approves/denies site time-off requests; evaluates the need for additional coverage; edits and approves site staff timecards. Ensures that new patient evaluations labeled "priority" are seen in a timely manner at the site by the Lead or by working with staff therapists to add patients to the schedule, demonstrating commitment to access goals. Demonstrates competence in applicable professional skills. Performs other duties as assigned from time to time. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy. Current PT or OT license in the state of Illinois. Two or more years of clinical experience. Position Details Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
