Laboratory Billing Supervisor

Job Summary The Laboratory Billing Supervisor coordinates and completes laboratory related billing including conducting audits, correcting errors, training laboratory staff on billing procedures and identifying system wide issues. Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate billing related activities required by the laboratory including the resolution of daily errors in a timely manner. Provide education to the laboratory staff to reduce billing errors. Develop billing procedures related to manual entry, error identification, and resolution. Manage laboratory related Epic work queues in a timely manner. Perform periodic audits of the billing process in the laboratory to determine if charges are being created appropriately. Create schedules and evaluate staffing needs for sick, vacation and LOA’s. Oversee the procurement, preparation, and analysis of patient specimens according to established procedures. Maintain current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars, in-services and reading journals. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred; Field of study: biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science. Minimum 3 to 5 Years of job-related experience required. American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other nationally recognized laboratory certification required.
