Machine Operator Technician (1st or 3rd Shift)

We are seeking skilled Manufacturing Technicians to join our team. This role involves operating and maintaining extrusion machinery to produce high-quality film products. The position offers opportunities to work on 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or 3rd shift from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Training will be provided from 6 am to 6 pm. We are looking for individuals to start as soon as possible after interviewing. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments on extrusion equipment.
• Operate extrusion machinery to produce film products according to specifications.
• Read and follow work instructions, SOPs, and production documentation.
• Use hand tools and power tools for equipment operation and maintenance tasks.
• Operate tow motors, forklifts, and pallet jacks for material movement.
• Perform material handling functions for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Conduct quality inspections on raw materials, finished products, and in-process materials.
• Utilize measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and drop gauges.
• Perform testing and characterization of finished films including surface toughness evaluations.
• Assist laboratory personnel with product testing and data collection.
• Complete production and quality documentation, including data entry in Excel.
• Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping of equipment and work areas.
• Identify, document, and escalate defects or process deviations.
• Follow all safety procedures while working around hot equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Lift and move materials up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain an organized work environment.

Essential skills include:

• Previous extrusion operator experience.
• Experience performing machine setups and changeovers.
• Experience operating a tow motor and/or other material handling equipment.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Experience utilizing hand and power tools.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and drop gauges.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements.

Additional skills and qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Troubleshooting skills.

Pay and benefits:

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
