Accountant

Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing commercial electrical construction company. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting accounts payable and receivable, assisting with project accounting, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Construction accounting experience is strongly preferred.

- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Assist with project cost tracking and job costing.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
- Assist with monthly and year-end financial close processes.
- Monitor project billing, collections, and outstanding receivables.
- Support payroll and related accounting functions as needed.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and records.
- Assist with audits, tax preparation, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Work closely with project management and leadership to ensure accurate project financial information.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Construction accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with job costing, project accounting, or contractor accounting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
