Position Location Florida Department of Health – Tampa/Hillsborough County Position Summary OPS Records Analyst – 64858462. Salary: $20.25 per hour. Your Specific Responsibilities The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to assist with the processing of Social Security disability claims. This role involves routine electronic records management activities, maintaining a courteous demeanor when interacting with claimants, their representatives, the general public and coworkers, and meeting tight deadlines while balancing multiple priorities. The position is largely electronic (90% of work performed via computer). Key duties include: Answering calls routed to the Development Unit and returning voicemail messages. Routing calls and referrals to appropriate DDS staff, sending correspondences by fax or mail, and making outgoing investigative calls to gather work history and functional information. Initiating, developing, and maintaining electronic record‑management activities related to Consultative Examination (CE) or Medical Evidence of Record (MER) needs. Reviewing required information in SSA system (DCPS), PCOMM and eView for completeness and accuracy, and documenting on the Electronic Worksheet (EWS) when appropriate. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective communication skills. Proficiency with standard office equipment (phone, copier, scanner, fax, computer). Ability to collect and evaluate data related to disability claims. Understanding of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to disability benefits. Assessing data for completion and identifying problems with corrective action. Composing correspondence and organizing data logically. Working independently and applying problem‑solving techniques. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others. Qualifications High school diploma preferred. Previous work experience with disability or insurance claims, medical office, social work or government programs preferred.
