Unit Specifics:

• Number of Beds: 9 L&D, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs & 3 bed OBED
• Patient Ratios: 1-2
• Unit Staffing Description: Unit Secretary and scrub tech, dedicated CRNA & midwife in-house 24/7, OBGYN on call
• Documentation System: CPN and Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 4 weekend shifts/month
• Floating Policy: Can float to maternity/birthing or outside department to task
• Patient Experience Requirements: Maintain above 75%

Requested Skill Set:

• Must Have: A strong commitment to providing the highest quality of care to laboring patients. Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities specific to patient preferences.
• Advanced Skills: Experience with spinning babies and STABLE certification is beneficial.
• Procedures Performed on Unit: Circulating in OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4, postpartum hemorrhage- JADA system, nitrous oxide administration.
• Certifications Required: RN, ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal monitoring.

Dress Code

Required uniform: Hot pink and black. Black on the bottom is acceptable but hot pink is preferable on top.

Additional Information

This unit utilizes a laborist team model featuring 24/7 midwives, dedicated CRNA, and OB on call. The facility aims to personalize each birth experience according to patients' desires and needs. The postpartum unit practices couplet care, allowing newborns to remain with their parents to enhance breastfeeding opportunities, supplemented by donor milk availability when needed. The unit also includes an 8-bed level 2 NICU with a dedicated Nurse Practitioner available 24/7, who attends all high-risk deliveries as necessary.
