Senior Accounting Manager

Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Senior Accounting Manager for a full-time, on-site role. Salary range is $150,000 - $170,000 with excellent benefits. Our client is a long-standing, mission-driven non-profit healthcare organization in the Bronx. We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its leadership team. This is a high-impact, fully on-site opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on, deadline-driven environment and wants to play a key role in strengthening and modernizing the accounting function. Key Responsibilities Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls Prepare and review financial statements , including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Oversee outsourced accounting functions across AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting Manage and mentor a small team while coordinating with third-party providers Ensure compliance with GAAP, audit, tax, and nonprofit reporting requirements Partner with leadership to improve processes, reporting, and accounting workflows Help develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive leadership Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and process improvement Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required CPA or Master’s degree preferred 8+ years of accounting experience Prior management experience , including oversight of staff and/or outsourced functions Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, close process, and internal controls Public accounting or audit background strongly preferred Healthcare experience is a plus Non-profit experience is a plus Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills 10 holidays + 2 floating holidays + 2 personal days #J-18808-Ljbffr
