CNC Operator / CNC Machinist in Mesa, AZ — $21.00–$27.00/hr DOE, 2nd shift, contract-to-hire. Set up and operate CNC equipment to make blind fasteners and aerospace components.

THE BASICS

Pay: $21.00–$27.00/hr DOE

Shift: 2nd shift, Monday–Thursday, 4:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m.

Location: Mesa, AZ 85205 (on-site)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Own the setup, follow the print, and verify the part before the next one runs.

Independently set up CNC machines, adjust tooling and workholding, and verify machining results against engineering specifications. Use SPC, precision inspection tools, and production records to maintain quality.

This four-day schedule ends after midnight, with 10½ hours between start and finish. You will handle setups and troubleshooting as well as production operation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Set up CNC lathes, mills, and chucker equipment

- Adjust collets, fixtures, tooling, and workholding

- Operate and troubleshoot automatic-load systems

- Read blueprints, GD&T, programs, and setup sheets

- Input commands, verify parameters, and perform dry runs

- Resolve tooling, fixture, machining, and program issues with production staff

- Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, indicators, comparators, and gauges

- Record setup, SPC, and production information in SYMIX or related systems

WHAT YOU NEED

- At least 3 years of CNC machining and setup experience

- Experience setting up CNC lathes, mills, chucker machines, or auto-loading systems

- Knowledge of G-code, tooling adjustments, and CNC setup procedures

- Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications

- Experience with SPC and precision inspection equipment

- Familiarity with ERP/MRP production systems

- Ability to troubleshoot machining problems independently

NICE TO HAVE

- Aerospace or blind-fastener manufacturing experience

- High-volume precision machining experience

- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

- Journeyman machining or trade-school background

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prepare tooling and fixtures, make machine adjustments, and handle precision measuring equipment and components. Review specific lifting and standing demands with your recruiter.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Machine-shop floor with CNC machinery, moving equipment, cutting oils and metalworking fluids, noise, and airborne particles. PPE is required and provided, and all plant safety procedures apply.
