• Shift: 12-hour Mids/Eves (1p-1a, 7 on / 7 off rotations)
• Hours per week: 36-40 hours (flexible based on scheduling)
• Employment Type: Contract (W-2)
• Licensure/Certifications: Valid RN license in Louisiana, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, CPI or MOAB, TNCC preferred
• Experience Needed: Minimum 2 years of ER or acute care RN experience; prior ICU or ED experience strongly preferred
• Specialized Skills: EKG competency, IV starts, chest tube management, defibrillation, stroke/NIHSS experience, ICU GTT management

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and specialty cases such as cardiac, diabetic, renal, trauma, and infectious diseases
• Manage patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and prioritize urgent needs
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and perform procedures like NGT insertion and chest tube care
• Collaborate with ED physicians, techs, and support staff in a fast-paced environment
• Document patient care accurately within EMR (Meditech Expanse)
• Respond to cardiac, stroke, and trauma emergencies with proficiency and confidence
• Support patient flow and operational efficiency during high-demand periods

What You Need
Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of ER or acute care experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, CPI or MOAB (TNCC preferred)
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam before start
• Strong clinical Skills: IV starts, chest tube management, defibrillation, stroke assessment

Preferred:

• Experience with complex patient populations and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and ED equipment

About the Assignment
Join a dedicated ED team at a leading facility in Shreveport, LA. The unit handles approximately 120 patients daily, providing care for a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions. The ER features advanced support staff including dedicated physicians, techs, and lab/radiology teams, ensuring comprehensive care delivery. Enjoy a structured orientation with two days in the hospital followed by two days on the unit, along with flexible scheduling options and holiday shifts. Employees are required to work major holidays and every other weekend, with opportunities for time off requests.
