Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Interprets instructions and process sheets to determine work to be done.

Performs diversified operations on CNC machining centers.

Performs a variety of milling, drilling, boring, or related operations to close and interrelated tolerances.

Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures work piece in fixture according to setup instructions.

Selects and installs cutting tools in machine spindle or magazine.
Enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from database.

Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.

Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.

Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in setup instructions.

Performs a variety of inspection and gaging operations to insure maintenance of quality standards and specifications.

Measures work piece for conformance to specifications.

Notifies the Production Manager of discrepancies.

Cleans machine, tooling, and parts.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
