Registered Nurse/Oncology Chemo Certified

• Pay Rate: $43.50 $47.50 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day Shift (5x8 Hours), 07:45 17:15

This is an Oncology Chemo Certified Registered Nurse travel/contract position at a cancer institute clinic. The role serves adult patients (18 ) with Hematology and Medical Oncology diagnoses in an ambulatory infusion setting. Mixing technicians and pharmacy staff handle all chemo mixing. The unit currently operates 10 infusion chairs.

• Administer chemotherapy to oncology patients in an ambulatory infusion setting
• Manage and access central lines as required for patient care
• Float between the Matthews and Ballantyne Clinics (approximately 14.1 miles / 20 minutes apart) as required
• Operate ambulatory infusion pumps and unit systems including Pyxis, Epic, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
• Complete pre-shift COVID screening as per facility requirements
• Participate in unit orientation (8 hours, varies by skill level) and hospital orientation during week one; must be available for classes each day

• Ability to administer chemotherapy
• Central line experience (required)
• Proficiency with Pyxis, Epic, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
• Proficiency with ambulatory infusion pumps
• Accepts 1st-time travelers
• Local candidates accepted

• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BCLS certification required
• ONS Chemo/Bio Card required (a must)
• OCN certification preferred

• Minimum 2 years of Oncology-specific experience

• Shift: 8-hour day shift, 07:45 17:15; no weekend requirement
• Patient ratios: 1:5
• 40 hours per week available
• No on-call requirement
• Float requirement: May float between the Matthews and Ballantyne Clinics (approximately 14.1 miles / 20 minutes)
• Patient population: Adults 18 ; Hematology and Medical Oncology; 10 infusion chairs
• Scrubs: Not provided; navy blue required
• RNs must bring their own stethoscope
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Pre-shift COVID screening required as per facility requirements

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• RTO maximum of 7 days for AYA Auto Offer.
• Unit orientation is 8 hours (varies by skill level); hospital orientation occurs in week one; traveler must be available for classes each day.
• Mixing technicians/pharmacy handle all chemo mixing RN does not mix.
