Database Manager

This Database Manager/Administrator is the expert DBA responsible for support of the Client DB2 environment. It is anticipated to be a long term role that should be funded for an extended period of time. This role requires an experienced DB2 Database Administrator with some background as an IMS DBA. The individual will provide support for upgrading DB2 Version 10 to Version 11. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and supporting DB2 databases, providing backups, recoveries and disaster recovery. This individual will monitor space utilization for all DB2 databases, Logs, etc. Will also monitor DB2 database fragmentation and perform reorgs when required. Provide logical and physical database design and implementation of physical DB structures into DB2 DBMS. Provide technical and lead Database support for Client projects to facilitate successful completion of established goals. Provide point of contact and interact directly with development team. This position is also for IMS Database support. The candidate will be responsible for IMS Version 14 enhancements and eventually upgrading to version 15. The individual will provide IMS database support similar to the tasks described above for the DB2 databases. Daily core-hour on-site support presence and on-call availability during off hours.
